Carry (or stand) bags are still the most common type of second hand bags on the market. Carry bags are the cheapest option and for most golf enthusiasts a typical stand used bag adequately meets all their needs. The vast majority of stand or carry used bags will carry the full complement of 14 clubs if needs be – as well as balls, tees and whatever accessories you choose to carry with you.

Most stand/carry bags come with a double strap. This is important as it spreads the weight across both shoulders. Single strap carry bags are agile and offer easier access to your equipment, but unless you only intend to carry a half set of clubs, you might find that there is too much pressure on your shoulder. Ultimately, it’s a question of personal choice. However, when considering a purchase of single strap used bags, it would be advisable to ‘try it for size’ with all your equipment included.

The alternative is a cart used bag. Cart bags weigh more due to the added structure they have – and, of course, they can carry more weight as well, as they are intended to be transported on a cart.

Cart used bags tend to be more durable and tougher than their carry/stand counterparts.
